Laguna Humantay or Umantay is one of the most spectacular landscapes along the Salkantay Trail, This full-day tour gives you the opportunity to visit this turquoise color lagoon located at the base of the Humantay mountain, which takes 1.5 hours of ascending walk to reach the paradise on the mountains. Humantay is one of the snow-capped mountains in the Vilcabamba mountain range and the glacier melt makes a beautiful lagoon that may be visiting for those you like a little bit of hiking and being in the mountains for hours, this hiking option is perfect for those who want to get out of the routine for a day. During the tour, we will provide you with a professional service supported by our professional guides and transported by modern and safe vehicles and you will try the local dishes since this tour included lunch and breakfast.

    We use Mercedes Benz modern vehicles, Usually we make groups of 15 to 16 people with a maximum of 18 people per group.
    Our guides are English speaking who will help you to reach the Laguna Humantay and will always be aware of those who suffer a bit to arrive as well as they carry an oxygen bottle and first aid kit for any emergencies.
    The breakfast consisting in, juice of fruit, hot drinks may be chocolate or coffee or some tea and you will have a bit of fruit salad and bread or pancakes accompanied by jams and mantequilla, of course, you can drink coca tea.
    Lunch is buffet style, on the table, you will have different options, including dishes prepared with vegetables, potatoes, salads, meat, pasta, stews which you can eat and combine as you wish, there are also vegetarian options
    We provide handmade poles for each one, this if you wish you can take it as it can be very helpful for the rocking in the trails that you will walk.
    It includes the entrance to for the Laguna Humantay which is collected by the local communities which have a cost of 10 soles.

    How you have to dress:
    Wool hat or beanie
    T-shirt

    A jacket, if it is not waterproof take also rain poncho

Renting riding horses to do the laguna Humantay:

Once you reach the starting point of the hike to Humantay Lake, If you are not able to walk, you can rent horses to ride directly from the local comuneros, if you rent a horse you will have also one person to pull the horse, you will just only have to sit on the horse they will charge you for the horse between 60 to 80 soles depending on whether you take a single section or you take up and down.

LAGUNA HUMANTAY:

The snowy Salkantay (6271m) is one of the highest mountains in the Cusco region, together with the Ausangate mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range which is located further south.
Humantay, is a snow-covered mountain that forms part of the Vilcabamba mountain range and gives rise to the formation of this splendid turquoise colored lagoon that is fed by the glaciers of the mountain and that is a jewel of nature on the route of the Apu Salkantay.
The Humantay lagoon is located in the province of Anta, Cusco area and this is how the thousand-year-old city of Cusco once again surprises us by presenting a new alternative for travelers who wish to enjoy nature and the natural landscape at the foot of a snowy surrounded by imposing glaciers, this walk is impressive worth doing as the landscapes are incredible and the bravest, you can even take a bath in the icy waters of the lagoon.
